Hi all

First can i say thanks to all the great deck threads and all the people that contributed to them .
It has made me finaly attempt my first small deck after talking about it for some time .And after getting some very big quotes .
I have read all the threads and got the decking bible by Allan staines .But i still have a couple of stupid question ...

the deck will be

6m long 3m wide
90 x 45 ledger to double brick wall ramset screwed below every alternate joist
stir ups connected straight to bearers at 1200 spacing
2 bearers 2/ 90 x 45 at 1450 centers 100 over hang
12 joist 90 x 45 at 455 centers
timber treated pine f7
merbua decking , screwed down

Dew to the lack of space under the deck i will be using joist hangers on to the ledger board ..but top mounting them on the other bearers .
My questions ......I would like to but a boarder round the deck one board at 90 degrees to the decking on each 3m side .How is this achieved do i just use a second joist and space with a 45 mm noggin
I have looked at a number of deck picture and still do not get how the end of the decking boards are connected to the joists and what to connent the boarder to ?

Lastly how is the first and last joist connected to the ledger board so that the joist hangers are not seen ? As wont they stick out past the the decking attached to the side of the joist .
Any help will be greatly appreciated .

Sorry if the questions sound odd .

Thanks Rob
