Gday I have stripped all the thiles off my bathroom walls (made of course cement render). However it is covered in 30-40 year old glue that looks to me like contact glue. A heat gun gets it nice & soft and I can scrape off most of it. Also a solvent I bought from bunnings make it soft enough to scrape off the excess, but there is still a layer on the wall. This is because the render is quite rough, so it is difficult to scrape it clean off. How much of this stuff should I take off before I can waterproof and tile? All of if, 50%? Any ideas? One solution would be to chip the cement off and re-render (lots of work) or a disc sander with many sheets of course sand paper. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. dhat
