I have noticed before that when plasterers hang the plasterboard on a ceiling that is to be finished with a cornice, that they leave a gap 50 to 100mm ish, between the edge of the ceiling sheet and the wall. Is there a reason for this? I am about to about to re-plaster my house and cant really see the need to leave this gap. Was wondering if anyone could enlighten me on this one?
