Installing vanity basin - steps and tips?
Hi All,
We'll be installing our vanity benchtop (laminate) this weekend and also our basin (ceramic). Just wanted to check on the steps for doing so...
1. Measure up benchtop for basin
2. Cut hole for basin in benchtop (planning to use jigsaw...)
3. Install benchtop on top of cabinets (screw together...)
4. Apply silicon to top of benchtop where basin will sit? (IS THIS RIGHT?)
5. Sit basin into hole in benchtop
6. Silicon around edge of basin where meets benchtop (taping first to get clean finish)
Does this sound right/sensible? Is silicon the right adhesive to be using? If so, does it matter what kind of silicon we use?
Appreciate any advice/wisdom!
Cheers,
Kate
