Our house is in north Brisbane, built 1967, has paint peeling off all external walls, paint chips can be found on ground. We foolishly had no idea about lead based paints and have lived with paint peeling for four years as no money to repair yet (first home buyers), now have four month old baby and just found out yesterday that it is likely to contain lead. Will get tested next week but have read it will have at least 1% lead from that era best case scenario. All window sills peeling and paint flicks off when open and close. Does anyone know rough price for lead abatement of 3 bed chamferboard? What about soil contamination after many years of paint deterioration? Worried sick...
