Best method of plastering corners
I am currently plastering a new house. The ceilings have been hung and I am starting on the walls. I intended to use the "floating corner" method as recommended by both Lafarge and Gyprock using internal angles and stud adhesive. However, I was talking to a plasterer friend who said that this method is inferior to nailing the internal angle into the corner and nailing the plaster into the corner (that is using nails not adhesive). This seems to be at odds with the idea of a floating corner that could compensate for movement. anyone got any thoughts? Given the drought, I am very keen to try to minimise the risk of corner cracking.
