Gloe Brush
Stumbled on a Stumpy Nubs video where he was using a silicone glue brush.
Bristles were quite thick and spaced well apart. Other end had a small spatuala.
Has anyone seen such an implement here in Aus???

Go to a kitchen shop, or even one of the $2 type shops that abound high streets and far corners of shopping centres.
You can use the silicon basting type brush or a small spatula, both work OK.Can you imagine what I would do if I could do all I can? -- Sun Tzu

I bought a Rockler one a couple of months ago. Works pretty well and virtually cleans itself. To test, I used it with PVA, left the glue on to set, then tried to remove the glue. It came off easily.
It spreads the glue fairly well, sort of leaves stripes of glue.
All the same, I still prefer to use a finger on small areas.

Rockler silicon glue brash
I've used the one from Rockler. Yes, it is very easy to clean. The spread is acceptable, but after few uses I switched back to toothbrushes I've been using for years with perfect results. They're also easy to clean and cost you nothing.

Fingers
I stopped using my fingers when I got a bad splinter and infection.

If I was working with rougher timber, where there was a likelihood of splinters, I'd use the Rockler brush. It's useful, but I get a more even spread with my finger.
The flat spatula end of the Rockler one is handy for tight corners, but no better than a piece of card or thin timber.... Steve
