Thread: Getting it all out of the tube

Thought I'd share a little project I did today. Others may have done this before, but it was new to me.

I have always had difficulty with epoxy tubes! I don't know why, but they just end up messy and I seem to throw them out before I get all the glue out of them. That offends my Scottish ancestry, given the price of good epoxy nowadays.

In an effort to improve the situation, I made tube squeezers, based on a design I once saw for toothpaste tubes. Here's a picture:

I turned some 8 mm dowel and made four rollers about 1 3/4" long with a groove 1/4" from each end. Suitable O-rings located in the matching grooves hold each one together and squeeze the rollers together so they push the glue towards the cap. Looks much better and likely to mean I will get as much as I can out of the tubes.
