    Default Which glue to use

G'day. All. I'am in the process of building a new workbench ,which is 3 metres long,1.5 metres wide ,cross braced at every 300 m/m by 70x50 sitting on each side on more 70x50 bolted to the sides which are 200x50 and standing on 100x100 legs, all second hand and well seasoned hard wood.the bench top will be 80x20 cypress tounge and grooved floorboards .what I would like to do is glue them down what i'am thinking is to run a glue into each grove as well as a good bead across the bearers, I reakon by doing this I should be able to stop vibrations and drumming sounds,I do not have floorcramps to squeeze them together but I should be able to use clamps to force them down into the bearers before I screw them down , .What would be the best type of glue use please?.

    Hi John,

    Welcome to the forumses.
I would suggest a glue which will hold wood to wood snugly.
But I don't understand why you don't screw them into the bearers so they can be replaced if necessary. Surely you don't get drumming and rattles with this arrangement?
Try Titebond II, should do the trick. $10.00 odd for 2 litres at Masters.
