    Default Which Glue?

This is essentially a non-related woodwork question.

As a Grandfather, I get asked to repair all manner of things including assorted plastics (think Lego), wooden puzzle boards and now Dolls.

Because of the nature/type of plastic used in Dolls (softish and essentially greasy) I am concerned that what ever I use will not adhere for a long lasting join.

Apart from the revered Supaglue, what is the most versatile glue for plastics?

    Any help appreciated.

    George

This may help. It's an American site, but you can find Australian equivalents for them. I also had a Selley's one that worked quite well on most types of plastic - can't remember what it was though. Also, have a look at the Locktite range.

Ive always done either epoxy or super glue. Some plastics are unglueable though. One option is use plastic primer - Ive used that before and it helped... but I wouldnt call it a strong glue joint.

    Possibly this one?

Selleys Power Grip All Plastics Glue 2 Pack | Woolworths

I've used this on a few different plastics with good results. I agree that normal cyanoacrylate doesn't work with a lot of soft plastics.
