Glue advice needed
I am currently making a stable door for a new potting shed I am building for SWMBO.
I have made tongue in groove paneling for the top and bottom panel and the rails and stiles will have mortise tenon joints. The rails and stiles are 140x35, the mortises will be 60mm deep and 12mm wide, overall width of the door is 840mm, height 2040mm
My question is what glue would I use for the mortise and tenon joints, Triton yellow glue, polyurethane or 2-pack epoxy. The door will be sheltered by a veranda, I have used Triton yellow glue on the t&g paneling.
Will post a WIP shortly, but in the meantime, any glue advice gratefully received.

Sticky Question
Triton yellow should be OK, but the polyurethane may be safer if you are not sure whether the weather (Did I get that ryte?) will reach the door.

I would use the triton yellow glue, if the door is under cover and finished there shouldn't be a problem

Thanks for the advice guys, as the door will be covered by a veranda and will be painted, I will stick with the devil I know and use the Triton glue.
Thanks again.
Now for those 8 M&T joints.............

You could always peg the tenons, reducing the importance of the glue.
Personally I reckon they add a nice bit of detail, although on a painted door you could hide 'em by flush-cutting.

Thanks Skew, yes I have been debating that, have in fact been reading up on them in a FWW article.
Never done any of those, so the jury is still out.
One of the comments made in the article is that they can be prone to splitting the stiles along the grain, perhaps not a big risk in Meranti, but all the same a risk I suppose.
What size dowels would you recommend?

Here is a stable door project with some good tips

Note the concept of painting the joints instead of gluing.

Thanks Pusser, I had in fact bought that mag at the news agents' last month, if I'd known it was on the web I could have saved myself some money.
Not to sure about not gluing up the panel, so decided to glue them, but the panel itself will float with silicon beads.
As the door won't be directly exposed to the weather I would say that will do the job.
Then again, this is the first external door I have ever made, so time will tell.
