Default Glue to bond Neoprene and wood (oregon)

I am building a wooden drum for a Dust Deputy, and need a seal between lid and body which will tolerate the lid repeatedly coming off and being clipped back on. Thought I'd use 340 x 25mm strips of 3mm-thick neoprene (unless there are strong views to the contrary).

The bond therefore just needs to hold the neoprene attached to the wood, there'll be no traction or lateral force on it. The Gorilla glues website recommends cyano-acrylate, but that would be a PITA to attach such strips.

Any suggestions? Would epoxy work in this situation?

    Thanks,

    Mark

A contact adhesive would work well.

Thanks NCArcher, I've got some of that in the shed.

If the neoprene has any skin on it, like wet-suit diving material, scrub the gloss off it with 200-300 grit sandpaper. Don't sand it down to the bubbles, just scuff it up.
Also, real, honest to goodness, neoprene cement might be the adhesive of choice.

    Thanks Robson Valley,

The neoprene surface is pretty smooth, so will take your advice and roughen up a little with sandpaper.

I'm sure you're right in principle about using purpose-formulated neoprene cement. However, as the bond will not be under tension (compression only), and furthermore I already have the Laird's recommended product in the shed, I think I can safely avoid yet another trip to the hardware store.

    Cheers,
