Default Glue for cafe type plastic PVc sheeting

Hello, I want to make a 600 x 600mm vacuum press, and have purchased some 0.7mm thick clear plastic sheeting from Clark Rubber ( see here). It is 1200 x 600 and I want to fold it over and glue the outer edges together to give me the 600 x 600, open at one end.

Can anyone please suggest a suitable glue that will hold this PVC sheet along the edges in an airtight manner ?
    regards,

    Dengy

Thanks for this pointer, Richard. I got on to Tech support at Sika, and they said if the plastic is Polyethylene or Polypropylene nothing will adhere to it . However if it is PVC you might look at our Sikaflex 112 Crystal Clear. They attached the Data Sheet on this product

    just an observation ...

a 1200 x 600 sheet of plastic will give you an approx 500 x 500 "vacuum press". Not the 600 x 600 you are hoping for.

something like these Gripstic Clips - Lee Valley Tools should be available in Australia, try a kitchen supply store.
Also, Gorilla tape will work a temporary air tight sealer

thanks ian, well spotted. The workpiece is actually 400 x 400 x 40 that needs veneering, hence the extra size bag to get it to fit

40 mm thick is a pretty hefty dimension

If the object is a box you will at the very least bow the sides when you vacuum press the veneer

9mm of veneer and substrate, plus 2x 16mm Melamine platens either side =41mm

For what it is worth, I have bonded HDPE using fibreglass. The resin seems to stick to almost anything.
