Default What glue is best for glueing MDF to paper mache

    Hi Everyone
    Just need some advise please
I’m wanting to glue a paper mache mask to a sheet of MDF
I’m wanting to know what glue etc would i use to hold the mask down please ?
The mask is not sitting perfectly flat at present, but doesn’t take much finger pressure to push flat,
I was thinking either a white glue(Matt hubby said Tietbond )
    Or maybe a two pack?
    Cheers Sally

Any of the pva glues would be more than adequate. I would use one of the clear versions (rather than the yellow stuff the Americans seem to like). Any but the nastiest Chinese stuff is probably better than what holds the paper Mache together. Keep a damp rag to get rid of excess if shine is going to be a problem, would do so anyway even if going to paint the whole thing.

    PVA definitely the go.
To hold down whilst glue drying, a plastic bag filled with sand or whatever should work without crushing it.

When I worked in London we used to use wall paper glue to bond paper mache to MDF. It was dead easy to use and dried perfectly clear and it was a lot easier to remove the paper mache if required compared to PVA

    I hope that helps

Hey, that's a great idea. I guess not as convenient as PVA though.
