    Default Glue In Nylon inserts

Looking at using a glue in Polyamide (nylon) insert into plywood for creating a thread.
This appears to be common practice in furniture making.
I am making a bunk bed for the kids

    The details are:
    Plywood (meranti) 18mm
    Hole in Wood dia 8mm
    Threaded insert M6
    Length of insert 11mm

    My questions are:
-Is the Glue used typically a filled (thickened) epoxy?
-How strong is the M6 thread created (in general terms, will be testing anyways)?

    Thanks
    Alex

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum "Alex".
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
I've made 2 beds for my grandsons; one was an upper bunk.
I don't use glue but did go overboard on using big & long screws.
If you are using thread inserts, I'd definitely use a good quality epoxy glue though IMHO your build sounds a little light.
Anyways, I'm sure others will know more than I and be able to off some advice.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP photos with build notes.
    Enjoy the forum.
    Enjoy your woodwork.
    Cheers crowie
