Default Which Glue For A Plywood Camper Trailer?

    Hi All,

I've already built one camper out of plywood using a stitch and glue method so all joints were done with epoxy. The outside was then coated in fibreglass. The next one I'm planning is also using plywood but I'm hoping I can speed up the assembly stage as it's a bit tedious waiting for the epoxy to cure before I can move onto the next stage. I'm also thinking that doing ALL of the joints with epoxy (Bote Cote) is a bit of overkill as most will never see any moisture. So I'm hoping to find a suitable adhesive that I can use with say a glue and staple/screw method. The body is made up of flat sections of ply which tab together. The outside skin has a curved shape as it conforms to the assembled structure. The entire thing will then be coated in fibreglass or possibly aluminium. Sorry no pictures at this point.

So essentially looking for an easy to use adhesive that will handle some vibration (driving on dirt roads etc) and not become brittle, and doesn't require excessive clamping. UV stability would be nice but most joints will not be sitting in full sun for any extended period. Note I've used Titebond before (different applications) and possibly it would do? Not sure.

    Thanks in advance. KB.

Bit of a different approach and not the answer to your question but have you considered heading down this path?

Hi Beardy. Yes I have but have a definite outcome in mind. Also the Styro panel doesn't work with the hatch arrangement I'm doing. Using the Styro glass sheet only may be an option though to clad the entire thing.
