G'Day Lignum,
It's properly a silicon seal to withstand the heat & keep it's shape.
We had big silicon tube seals on autoclaves for IV Solution,
and just used clean high temp silicon sealant to adhere them.

I've attached the Dow Corning Data Sheet.
