Default Which glue is suitable for Spotted Gum, please?

    Good evening,

I'm about to laminated some Spotted Gum pieces, I am wondering if Titebond III is suitable for this timber, please?

    Thank you and regards,

+1 for Titebond III. If it's critical joint that will be under stress then maybe rub the timber down with acetone or white spirit to get rid of the inherent slight "greasiness" of SG.

Great timber to work with IMO.

I hope you have been well Brett I'm not getting Titebond Polyurethane then. I'm about to laminate four legs each has two pieces around 14cm wide and 69 cm in length, I'm guessing that makes it easier still, but I'm getting acetone or white spirit anyway.

    Cheers Brett

All good Behai. Yes TB themselves say that the III is stronger then their own PU (which is still a very useful glue to have on hand - metal/plastic to wood, expansion properties). Dunno which is the nastier - acetone or White Spirits. WS is certainly good for getting black gunk off whatever after sharpening planes/chisels. Best wear a mask and gloves methinks.
