Default Best glue for timber bathroom vanity?

Hi, I'm looking for some advice for a solid timber vanity glue up. Refer to the attached photos for the sort of style I'm looking to achieve (4-5 boards joined with mitred waterfall sides).

Are polyurethane glues the best option here? They seem quite pricey (Titebond Polyurethane Glue $38/355ml) Vs something like a Titebond premium/ultimate.

    Thanks.

The glue you use isn't as important as how you protect the surface, especially the mitre joint.

Wooden boat builders switched from resorcinol to epoxy glues 50 years ago.

I'm planning on doing the top for the vanity plus a storage unit for a new bathroom reno we're getting done next year, could you expand on the protection/finish you'd recommend for the environment.

I personally prefer more natural feeling finishes but I'm guessing that's maybe not the best idea?

    Cheers, Joel.

    Joel

We have recently (last two weeks) completed our new bathroom. The old vanity, which was pine with a gloss varnish finish was stripped and painted and and I got a new timber top from my next door neighbour. It just had to be sanded back.

Normally the only clear finishes that are waterproof are the gloss varnishes. However, we did not want the high gloss look. We found a product called waterlox which is a satin look. This is the vanity with new paint job re-placed timber (some type of Oak) and new hardware:

Some close ups of the timber

    The two products we used:

You can find more details on this link.

Look for the videos and "how to" sections at the top of the page as the process is a bit different with a foam applicator.

Thanks for all the input. I think I'll go with the titebond 3 -

Looks like a good product and if I had known about it, I would have considered it. Happy with the Waterlox products so far, but too early to give a definitive comment.

I like OSMO. Easy to use and a great finish. People use it for flooring and kitchen benchtops, so it's pretty hard wearing.
