    Question Glue for Workbench top

I'm just starting to build my first ever workbench (a proper one I mean). The top will be made of wood laminate.
Since I don't have thicknesser, thus I'm planing to plane the top using my router.
For gluing, I'm thinking to use Epoxy for it's strength and 'gap filling ability'.

My question is, which glue would be easier to be machined after they fully cured?
In other words, would be any problem if I use Epoxy glue?

    Thx.

    Epoxy will be fine.

it dries hard and sands and planes well.

I would sand the squeeze-out with a belt sander then flatten the bench with your hand planes.

On my bench I filled the nail holes and flaws with black-stained Epoxy. I made up a jig so I could level the bench with a straight bit in my router. I cleaned up with a belt sander.

The epoxy gave a smooth finish.

I'm sure epoxy will work fine. However, I understand most benches are glued with normal wood glue (Titebond or similar). That's what I used on mine 7 or 8 years ago, and it's still solid as ever.

Thanks for such a quick and thorough reply and confirmation. I guess I can start gluing up in the next few days.

The reason I use epoxy glue , beside for its strength, mainly because I can't find reputable wood glue (such as Titebond) here in Indonesia. The best pvc base glue is Fox brand, but I don't want to gamble for a workbench top laminate .
