Glueing Metal to Wood
I am looking at prettying up some glass jars by turning wooden caps to fit over the metal screw-lids. Any suggestions on the glue to use to bond the turned piece to the metal lid? Should I rough up the metal lid first? Should I leave the wood surface rough where it will be bonded to the lid?
Thanks,

I would use an epoxy glue, like araldite.... you shouldn't need to rough up the timber at all....

I'd be using liquid nails; it's flexible so if you drop a lid it's less likely to come off from the shock.
