    Default Will PVA glue this

I want to glue some plywood together, and I’m wondering if ordinary woodworking pva will do the job. One surface is raw plywood, the other is coated with SUpercheap Auto Primer Filler.

Obviously the coated surface is the one I’m concerned about.

I can sand the primer filler back a bit but not much and not to bare wood.

There’s about a half square meter in total, divided between four pieces.

It must be glued across the entire surface.

    It’s non-structural, largely just cosmetic.

I’m preferring not to use anything more exotic as this is one of those projects that has already far exceeded my enthusiasm and budget, and I know pva will be the quickest to use if it works.

    Cheers

Put a spot of glue on, leave it to dry and see what happens.

I always thought that ordinary PVA glues like "Aquadhere" needed to soak into the surface to form a good bond. I have been using some of the new "Super Aquadhere" exterior adhesive which is some sort of polyester stuff that needs moisture for it to go off and it foams where it runs outside the joint. I used a plastic shopping bag to go between the job and my bench and where the glue had "fizzed up" out of the join it stuck to the plastic bag! It's a bit different to use compared to the old PVA, much more viscous, harder to squeeze out of the bottle, probably harder to spread evenly over a large area and, I think, a bit quicker to go off.
