    Default Resobond A3 help

I used Resobond A3 to laminate some strips of Jarrah (900x60x3) to form the curved back of a chair. The glue has failed and some of the laminates have sprung apart, mind you some have continued to hold as well (no idea why the glue failed as prep, mix ratio and clamping procedures were all followed). Resobond A3 is a formaldehyde resin. I am hoping to get advice on how to break down the rest of the glue that is holding so I can start again. If this is not possible what would be the best way to resolve the problem?

    Thanks

    Ross

Throw out the failed piece and start again...the only technique for getting rid of that sort of glue is mechanical removal, so unless bandsawing it apart is the simple option, the bin looks good!

I'd suggest using an epoxy resin on the new one...I've always thought the formaldehyde resins were more suited to industrial processes, not hand assembly.

Thanks for the reply. Not the news I was hoping for. You may well be right on formaldehydes being better for industrial processes
