    Default Stained hands

Can anyone tell me if I can clean the black stains from Gorilla Glue from my hands with anything that I might have in my shed? I know I should wear gloves but that does not always happen. You know "I will not touch it".

    I am learning, slowley.

60 grit on the ROS well it will get it off. I've given up and just wait for it go away naturally. Usually takes a couple of days. Although I still have a lovely coating of shellac on my finger nails. If i'm desperate the gritty citrus hand cleaner does a good job. I think it's called Citriscrub
Those were the droids I was looking for.

Thanks fellas, I think I have tried all of them. Unless you wear gloves you have to tell people that you had a flat tire or broken fan belt.

not having had this problem, but for those who have are any of the following effective

    denatured ethanol (AKA Metholated spirits)
    acetone
    mineral turps
    thinners

for most you won't want any cracks or cuts in your hands

    Default The Stain?

    Hi Pagie,
Have you had a go with Lemon & a Bit of Sugar.
Works on Stain from Wood, so you never know.
Yes, I did the same thing a while back, used a Polyurethane Glue. Came off eventually.
    Regards,
    issatree.

Warm water and coarse steel wool (scourer); just be gentle or you might take your fingers off as well

+1 for Solvol - the Gorilla site says don't use Acetone etc, it's one of the downsides of using a glue with no known solvent! I had black stripes on my hands over the Easter break, it wore off before I went back to work after 2 days of solvol before every meal...

Not much help to you on this occasion, but if you use animal glue the next time, then warm water from the tap will remove it in seconds.

I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.

Tedious though it may be, I suggest that wearing gloves, and the correct sort of gloves, can save you some grief down the road. Dust/vapor mask & hearing protection are the same to me.
I developed a dermatitis allergy to epoxies 40 years ago. I was no more than a snot-nosed PhD student and a slob besides. Diluted epoxies got spilled and drooled. . . just wipe it up and move on. Nobody told us. The itch is still indescribable. Dang!

Got a great soap at work called Eliminator, takes off most glues (epoxy, polyurethane) as long as they're still wet. Also doesn't sting if you have cuts.

I spotted a product called Stain Remover - at Bunnings near the Fibreglass resin.
    Ask at the paint counter.
    Hope this is of use
    regards, Ned
