Default Sticking leather bottoms in my bike panniers.

I’ve made up some leather trays to repair my bicycle panniers wot I’ve poked holes in the bottoms of.
I have been given a couple of tubs of Sika flooring glue.
Ive used this recently to glue 3mm Masonite or ply to some 20mm cardboard sign panels that I’m making an internal workshop wall from.
The reason I think this may be suitable is that it appears to stay flexible.
I’d done a few panels and resealed the tub, on opening it a few weeks later it had skinned over.
I removed the skin intact and left it drape over a suitable piece of debri in the shop cured side down. The result was this interesting hat which is still flexible.

This will be interesting to get in place but I thought it might also act as waterproofing for muck off the road in the wet.

I will do a quick post re forming the trays under leather.

My understanding was that the glue used for leather assembly prior to stitching is fairly typical contact adhesive. Not truly waterproof, but adequate in the presence of stitching. A waterproof alternative would be neoprene wetsuit glue, similar application measures etc, but truly unaffected by water and a lot of other liquids. Have no experience with Sika products so can't comment about them.
