Yeah OK, not what I usually think of but fair point. It's the raised glue line I usually think of as creep. Must say I haven't seen the sideways movement.
Anyway, I guess I misunderstood - I assumed you were talking about the boards slipping when clamping while the glue is wet."I don't practice what I preach because I'm not the kind of person I'm preaching to."

We will have to wait for Jake to get back online to see what kind of creep was worrying him. (Being worried by a creep sounds like something that you might need to get an AVO to stop)
Cheers

in the AWR they reviewed glues (cross linked polymer PVA's i think). the summary was so long as it was a fresh batch and not exposed to long shelf life or extreme temperatures they all performed as well as one another. so any of them woudl be fine. I generally get sellys exterior pva from bunnies - does the trick for me.

Jake, how about using a finger router bit? I saw seen pine seats in a cafe joined this way.
.
I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.
Regards, Woodwould.

ok ya got me, i buy the cheap $hitty glue in the 2 ltr tub for 0.5 of the cost of selly's (and use the waterproof stuff for exteriors )
i've even gone to the local rip off supermarket for a chinese no name once when I ran out in the middle of a glue up... it worked and is still holding.... crap glue tho...Zed

yep, anything thats a PITA. uno glue lines appearing in one way or other from movement.
I'll go buy some AV stuff Mick was mentioning and give that a go.I've got heaps of epoxy. might try a chair with that too to get rid of it. It might be fine.
the creeps not terrible. Maybe I'm being a bit picky. my eyes catching it cause I'm used to seeing these details. Its at the front of the seat away from the spindles at the back. Have got biscuits in it.
That joint looks strong woodwould. thanks for the idea. I don't know how I feel about seeing them in the end grain from the front though, because it'll be taking from the traditional look I'm after. Maybe could run them not all the way through though.
thanks kindly for the ideas.
