Wood glue to varnished surfaces
Will wood glue (gorilla brand) work ok on two varnished surfaces if they are roughed up with a sander? Stripping the surfaces right back probably isn't worth the effort. But I'm curious if wood glue will be useless under the circumstances.
The context is two beams (to make a laminated thicker beam) which will also be screwed together. The glue itself is helpful but tertiary to the design and screws if anything.
