16mm Rebate Bits - Do they exist
Hi,
I've been building some cabinets for by workshop, i'm using 16mm MDF.
At the top of the cabinets I need, on each side a 16mm rebate. I've been using a straight edge guide a 16mm straight bit. But it seems to me that a 16mm rebate bit with a ball bearing guide would be much easier.
I have a 6mm rebate bit which is perfect for the masonite 5.5mm hardboard back rebates.....
Anyone know if 16mm rebate bits exists and if so where I can get me one....
I have a 1/4 inch shank router....

CMT do one, or at least their big rebate set can do it, depending on what the other dimension is - 16mm x 'X' mm - the 1/2" shank set (part No. 835-502-11 ) will do up to 19mm x 12.7mm.
Its up to you to make a suitable router fence

You can get a router bit with changeable sizes of bearings that will give you different sizes of rebates.

Assuming (by your post) that you don't have a router table...
Try MLCS Woodworking's Katana range. They have a 9 piece 1/4 inch shank kit that will meet your needs I believe.
Google MLCS and you should be on the money.
