19mm router bit
I've set up my Triton MK3 table with my router with the intention of using it to make some nice clean housing joints on the 19mm pine you get from bunnings etc. If I can get this working well I'll be inclined to use it on some of my other timber.
I was wondering if there were any brands or different types of 19mm diameter bits I should be looking for or anything would do the job?
Cheers,
Paul

Are you cutting in from an edge or are you plunging into the work? A decent cutter will have a blade to allow plunging, a cheapy one from a box set probably won't. As with all tools, buy the best that you can afford.
If you are cutting with the grain, any cutter will do. If you're cutting across the grain you can buy cutters with a negative shear on the blade so that when cutting across the grain the blade shears the wood fibres and leaves a perfect edge with no breakout.
I swear by CMT, they're expensive but you'll never regret it.

Thanks for the response Chief!
I'll be cutting across the grain and not plunging. Simply sliding the router across the lengths of timber.
Is there a recommended online store for CMT bits? Happy to pay a bit extra for something that will last. Will I be able to buy a 19mm diameter bit? After a bit of googling I haven't had a great deal of luck.
*Edit* Actually just found them on the carbatec site.
Cheers!

Try Carbitool bits.
Good range, widely available at reasonable prices, and it's an Australian company.Geoff

Your lucky your mitre10 has a decent range. The Hobart and Cambridge stores are rubbish.
I managed to find the carbitool bit at SJS in North Hobart, they're really good in there!
