    Default 50mm router groove

Hi all was just wondering if anyone can help me with a project I have. What I want to do is cut a groove 50mm wide by 150mm long by about 15mm deep in identical sized pieces of material sort if like mass production. I was hoping to use a router but didn't know if I could buy a router bit that was 50mm wide. It would be easy if I could just put the material (poly) square in some sort of jig and just give it one pass to get the job done? I know I'm not working with wood on this one but I do love making things out if timber as well. Although not very talented. Hope you can help!
    Cheers

Carbitool have them, you will want a heavy duty router to cut in one pass would be around $90.00

Or maybe this might be of some use, but would need to do the cut in two passes.

If you plan on doing repetition type work and need different widths and only have a limited number of bits then a jig similar to the link may be of benefit.

Big router bits scare me. I'm not sure if I would be game to cut a 50mm wide slot in one pass especially at 15mm deep. I would use a jig as Bob has suggested, a 20mm router bit and cuts at depths of 5mm increments.
