Thread: AliExpress router table insert (with DIY lift)

Hi all!

First post, been lurking for years (literally), so please bear with me )

I've purchased a router table insert plate from AliExpress. Cheap, I guess (like $25), and it seems like a sturdy product after first inspection upon arrival.
Downside is that the router bit "insert" circles, they're plastic, and the whole shebang came without any kind of instructions.

The install of the insert itself I've got figured, but does anybody have any ideas on how to utilize the "DIY lift kit" that came with the insert?

My router is an ELU OF97E (DeWalt DW622K), I'm sure I need to make some sort of modification to use the lifting kit. Suggestions?

I'll also need to drill a hole for the threaded rod into the insert plate. Should I add a bearing underneath the plate?
I imagine drilling a hole in the plate to sink the head of the rod below the insert surface, adding a wooden "bearing holder" under the plate.
