Aluminium Router Table Fence
Hello
I am wondering if anywhere in Australia sells aluminium angle which is coloured, like the nice blue Rockler ones. I can find 80x80x6mm in Mill which would be ok I guess but another question is then how do I cut the slot for the router bit and dust port?
With my wooden fence I simply used the table saw in a series of cuts to make the slot so the fence can slide over the router bit. I would like to use an aluminium fence but how do I make the slot OR even better, buy one already made so I can just drill the holes for the t-track and get routing!
Thanks,
Jeff

At the risk of self promotion I've got a fence nib identical to the carbatec one I want to sell.
all metal split fence adjusts for tool width and independantly for offset, built in dust extraction and micro adjust.
Carbatec has them for $220. I suppose $150 ? email me if interested.

Built my first fence out of 60x60x5mm mill. Marked out where I wanted the opening for the router bits/extraction, drilled as close as I could on the drill press to my markings, worked a hack saw blade into the drill holes and cut through the remainder of holes, round filed close to my marks, finish with flat file/wet dry. Face of the fence was fitted with t-slotted mdf, wiped with tradwax all round to seal, also made zero clearance fence face, t-slotted laminate with sacrificial zero tolerance insert. For jointing work I just packed out one side of the zero tolerance face with paper. Worked a treat

Aluminium Fence
Thanks for your replies. I like the look of the woodpecker fence. I will see how my MDF one goes, might attach some pictures sometime. I might at some point find some cheap aluminuim and make a slot. I lack a drill press however to getting accurate holes will be hard, it's on the to get list!
Cheers
