GMC Router base screw size
Hi Folks,
Does anybody know the screw sizes in the base plate for the GMC 1200W router? I've not had much success in the manual or with GMC. Yes, I did reach them but they didn't know.
Any help would be most appreciated

From memory they are 8-32's. An American system. Size 8 stud 1/8 inch and 32 tpi. You will need to cut to length though. This also fits the small Bosch router and the universal base plate as per the american stencil kit.

Many thanks folks,
I am trying to put together a router table as I don't seem to very successful with my handheld efforts
I need to screw the router into the table hence the need for the screw sizes. I thought I would ask and then make a trip down to Universal Fasteners or similar.
Again, thanks for the responses.

I had the thought that there may be a few people on this forum who actually use this model and may already know.
The forums I use generally tend to be for asking a question of your peers. You may or may not be able to find out with research etc. but perhaps don't have the time.
I don't see anything wrong with that but then again, I'm only a newbie aren't I? What are forums for?

I do actually own one of these routers, but never table mounted it... but it does use the same size screws as a Makita 3612c try searching here for that... M4 is the size I think(still take the router with you!)

Hi Folks,
The screw size is an M6. Bunnies doesn't have the countersunk ones so it is off to the fastener mob tomorrowWhen in trouble, or in doubt

Now theres a thought. Lateral thinking always wins through, given my vast experience with routing (I think I spelt that right?) and the amount of money that I spent on myself over the Xmas/New Year break, I don't think I would be forgiven if I spent any more.
Thanks for the idea though, I'll see if I can finesse that in somehow. When in trouble, or in doubt

I done it with my dowler. the threded screws for the drill bits stripped after 5 months, so i went to a nuts n bolt place and they said it would take a few days to get and cost $1.50... so i just took it back to bunnies no prob, just got a new one (new sharp drill bits as well )

Yep, I've done that with my workbench. Called them up and the next thing a new one arrives on the doorstep. Didn't even have to take it in.
We'll see how I go building the router table for it. If it looks something like a proper bit of work, I'll post the results on woodwork pics spot. :eek:When in trouble, or in doubt
