    Default New Bosch 2-in-1 router.

Saw this new GMF 1400 router by Bosch in a UK woodworking magazine. It was given quite a good review and the price seems reasonable for what the router offers. I guess you guys have probably heard of it already by now. You can see it in the middle of the Bosch website and there's a 7Mb WMV file that shows its features.

I could not find any mention of it on the Bosch Australia web site. A similar style has been available in the USA for years and I've been lusting after one, the problem being that the US version is 110 volt 60 hz

Even if they don't release it in Australia, at least we should now be able to buy the 240 volt version from Europe. That is good news, I think, depending on the price.

Just noticed the price on the link you posted is 275 pounds excluding VAT. That's would convert to big bickies over here.

    regards

Yes, it is an expensive puppy. A very good router (however that's defined) would be close to £250-£300 so it's not overly expensive for the UK. The writer of the article is apparently going to use the new Bosch to build a router table and that'll be in next months magazine.
Peter. As nice a guy as you'll meet anywhere.
