    Default Camper van

G'day to you all. New pommy boy here with a question. I am fitting out a VW camper van with walnut veneered plywood, 12 + 20 mm thick. I want to rout the door + drawer openings and use the cut-out piece as the door/drawer front so I can bookmark them if you know what I mean. What sort/size of cutter should I use? What type of jig should I make i.e. internal or external. Many thanks for any advice and bring on the Ashes!

G'day Rammy and welcome to the circus!!

See you are from Allan Knot country. He was one of the most highly under rated wicketkeepers known to man.

If you rout the openings for the drawers and doors you will have a gap all round if you use the cut out for the drawer/door front. Not good.

20mm thick ply will require a very good quality bit because of the thickness and the murderous nature of the glue on sharp edges. I'd have another think about it.
