Default Close call. 'Think you idiot!'

Yesterday, on my precious RDO I was routing some dadoes in jarrah for inlaying. After I did the first shallw pass, I needed to turn the 7 turret depth stop adjuster. So I kept my left hand on the outside handle, and reached in from the bit-side of the base to turn it - that is on the inside of the plunge column. My middle knuckle was not more than .5 to 1cm away from the bit.

I wasn't in a rush, I wasnt tired or stressed. Just inattention.

Kind of a rude shock as well.
    Cheers,

    Adam

Personally, I never move the turret if the router is spinning.

Termite, I'd never ever flip a right-handed bird in any situation. CraigB, you're right I'll remember to switch the bloody thnig off next time. Why does it take an accident/close call to realise these fundamental things?!?!
    Cheers,

Same old story for all of us Adam, "That would never happen to me!" It is always the stupid little things that get us.

How many times have I looked back and thought to myself - Geez I'm lucky I didn't hurt myself there, what a bloody stupid thing to do -

Sometimes I have to agree with my wife - Males do tend to learn the hard way more than females - (Except for me of course !)
