Question How do I cut a rebate in a curved top door panel

I am making kitchen cabinets at the moment.
The top of the door is sort of arched but each side of the arch is on an opposing door.
I have made the stiles and rails as well as the raised panels BUT
I need to cut a rebate on the back of the panel to fit into the groove in the rail.
How will I do that? No hardware store around to buy a rebate bit and I need to finish the doors ASAP.
I have a 1/2" flush git with a top bearing but even when fitting a smalle bearing the rebate is not deep enough to fit into the groove.

I was under the impression that one raised the panels with the panel cutter until the panel edge fit in the groove? Can you make a wider groove (dado)?
    Cheers,

    Make a curved straight edge.

cut out a template that is the same curve as the arch in the door and then you can use that as a 'straight edge' to guide the router using a straight cutting bit set to the correct depth.

Maybe try on scrap first .....just so you can't blame me if you door has hunks missing.

    1) That only works if the panel is thinner than the frame, not if the panel is flush front and back
    2) Never tried to make a dado in a curved edge the panel bit cuts its own groove and is not adjustable

Already got the template and my straight bits do not cut deep/wide enough.
Oh well. Back to the drawing board
