Will the router accept a different sized collet?
The only down side of this is smaller shank bits tend to be shorter so you loose height when the router is under a table.

What were you saying about a bottle of red?) grooves in a future version of this bee hotel, which I won't be able to do with a drill.

Drilling five circular holes each 15mm deep -- will yield you 10 pieces each 1.5 cm long -- and will be much safer and faster than setting up a table mounted router to cut a 15 cm long groove.

To make a "wiggly" channel is a bit more of a challenge -- how thick would the sides of your bee hotel be?
anything less than about 20 mm thick will not be much of a "wiggle"

I still think a scratchstock will do what you want to achieve simply and quickly. The native bees around my place only need a 1/8” dia hole so it’ll only take a few minutes with a 1/16” radius cutter. Cutting a “wiggly” groove is also achievable although the tighter the wiggles the slower you’ll have to move the tool. How tight are you thinking?

Personally I would consider it quite difficult to drill a straight 1/8" hole 15cm deep down the centre of two joined boards. Stick with the router.
