I've found the coarse (red) DMT mini to be perfect for carbide router bits. In case you don't already know only do the face, never the outside edge.
You'll never get it as good as having it properly done on a tool and cutter grinder, but it does make them better.

Fully agree with Elan, except that I prefer to use as large a plate as I can find. A longer stroke sharpens faster and perhaps with more control. Also use that Diamond plate for flattening water stones.

I prefer my Atoma diamond plates over my DMT plates but admittedly I've only ever used them to sharpen my knives, chisels, and plane blades.

I prefer the totally smooth diamond coated sharpening plates. No hollow / recessed pockets in the surface for me.

I have 600 and 1000 DMT solid flat plates. Where I buying again, I would have gotten the 600 with channels. My reasoning is that this plate is seldomly used for sharpening. Its main use is flattening my water stone where the large perfectly flat surface generates a lot of suction, requiring copious amounts of water and frequent flushing to keep it moving.
