Hi Roj,If you only want to do through dovetails then perhaps you could settle for the Gifkins or even one of the generic models coming out of the Asian countries. These are on the lower end of the scale although you cannot categorise Gifkins in the same vein.

Then again if you want complete versatility the Leigh will not only do through but half blind and angled dovetails and through mortises with templates.

The Incra jig is also versatile but does not have the template capacity of the Leigh, but is a very good jig to have in your shop and capable of good incremental adjustment for fine woodwork.

The question you have to ask yourself is to what extent your budget will extend in view of not only your immediate need but down the track where you may want to venture into other ares of expertise in your work.

I have a Leigh Jig and most of the templates which enable me to do through/halfblind/angled dovetails as well as mortise cuts or pin joints. With this jig it allows me one utility with plenty of options.

    Just a few thoughts
    Cheers
