I got some 10mil Ali plate for free & made my own, I ended up covering it with a piece of laminex as the bare Ali tended to leave dirty marks on the timber.

I like the look of that Ali one on eBay, I have a trimmer mounted in bit of chopping board for small work, &, as Chris says... "Its a piece of aluminium, what could go wrong for that price?"

I might have to upgrade my trimmer table.

In the interest of transparency, I think Chris’s answer isn’t true true to what Jabell was asking.

He clearly says its die cast, whereas Chris’s answer says its aluminium!!

Die cast is good in certain applications but can be problematic under load
    Cheers

Wow, nice response. I'm sure you will get plenty of people responding to future questions.
I won't be one of them.
Those were the droids I was looking for.

It seems I read this differently to what you intended. I read it as "It's a bit of alumimium crap, why would you be stupid enough to waste your money on that", when what I was expecting to hear was someone's experience with it. In retrospect I'm reading it as "it's a simple bit of aluminium that can't go wrong, and $29 is cheap, so go for it".
I got it wrong. I'm sorry, and I unreservedly apologise.

We all make mistakes,I’ve done two in the last decade [emoji23].
You have done the right thing,
Let’s get back to talking about router plates, tables extra, that’s a lot more fun than politics.
Chris’s has a fantastic router build thread running right now, and I can’t link for some reason.
But it is very much worth the look.

    Cheers Matt.
