    Default Electrical supply

My name is Mike and I am a moderator on routerforums.com , the official chat group of The Router Workshop as seen on thewoodworkingchannel.com . I have never had the pleasure of visiting Australia. The closest I made it would be Korea while in the Army. In the USA and Canada our AC is 110V or 220V @ 60 hertz; do you use the same? The reason I ask is I saw a thread where a female was asking about a very easy to control router. The new Hitachi KM12VC came to mind. This being a combo kit with both fixed and plunge bases, dust collection adaptor and guide bushings in a nicely fitted case. This kit sells on Amazon.com for about $147 US, and if my math is correct that should be about $190 AU. We have had nothing but good reports from members using this model. It is smaller and lighter than the Bosch 1617EVS but with ample power for most routing jobs. Not knowing your AC I did not post there.

Hi Mike, Welcome to the forum (finally ) Guess one of the Admins logged on ( & Neil were both heading to a large wood turning ?conference? thus MIA!)

To answer your question, you might find this site helpful http://www.kropla.com/electric2.htm
Just googled it (world power voltages) and it seems to be a good summary.

    Australia is 230-240V RMS, 50Hz.
