Can any one suggest some were to obtain an extra long straight 6mm bit.
To be used in an half inch router
The extra length need is because it will be used in a router table.
My current bit I can max of about 20mm cut
I'm looking to cut about 35/40mm

With a depth of cut like that you might consider a spiral upcut bit
to get good clearance of the waste.
In any case take slower shallow cuts. At depth you would be putting
a lot of pressure on the bit and the bearings in the router.

Another link. I have just ordered from this seller although not received the router bit yet (too soon).

These bits will only cut to a depth of 31/32mm. May not be enough for you.
As Artme said, you will have to be very careful cutting at these depths as there is really too much leverage on the bit and they break very easily in these small diameters.

That's a fair point regarding strain on the bit
With what I'm doing I do just bring it up 2/3mm at a time the cut length is only about 15mm
But yes u do need to be careful
