Thread: finishing off a groove in Laminex covered top

A very sharp wood chisel does the job nicely, I did the same thing a couple of months ago.

Don't know that you need such a thick top Jill.
I built my table from Roger Gifkins' plans. Plans are on the net.
There has been some discussion in the forums about router tables and fences. You might want to look them up.

Or you could run the router groove past the length of the track and just bog the excess semi circle. It will work fine, but not be as "pretty" as squaring it with a chisel. It depends on whether you want to use it or look at it. Personally I'd rather bog it than chisel it as it's just a tool and it won't affect it's functionality but chiselling laminates is not really good for the edge of your chisel. If you're this far north give me a PM as I've got a couple of large sink cutouts in 33mm board.
