Default Getting more from my router

It has been a number of years since I began Getting more from my router. I was refurbishing executive jets some 15 - 20 years ago and it was at that time I realized I was not achieving the full potential from my router.

If you have an interest in getting more from your router you might like to check out a number of videos I have posted on You Tube.

The videos are experimental material I have been working on to try and get the message over; this is only a small collection of material projects I have achieved with the aid of the template guides. I will start working producing the videos of the others in the new year.

I hope you find the material informative and interesting and If you have any questions you can submit it to this thread or PM me

Here is a list of the video projects I have submitted to You-Tube
The various individual DVDs were what I had prepared for demonstration at the 2008 Wood show here in Perth Western Australia; they were not produced as teaching DVDs just illustrating what could be achieved with the router with the aid of template guides.
There could be something of interest for you. Each project has been produced mainly with the router in the plunge mode. Hence what I have been trying to get over to others; that 90% of all routing processes are produced in the router table is not really true. There is no doubt some of the processes I have presented could be achieved in the router table; but is it safer to use the router table.

I will continue to work on more projects that I have produced but I have not had the chance to add them to a DVD format

Default It has been quite some time

As the title of the thread states "It has been quite some time" since I taught myself 'How to get more from my router' and at that time I was convinced that others may also been using the template guides.
To date I have seen very few projects produced by members of the forum; completing projects with the aid of the guides. At the time of making my initial presentation I was not well versed in the use of the computer and completed all my drawings with the aid of Tee Square / Set Squares / Compasses and Drawing paper. I never gave any thought to producing the material on video as I did not posses the knowhow. This has been a big learning curve for me mastering how to produce visual effects taken with my new camera to my latest venture to send details on YOU TUBE. As you can see I have posted a number of routing processes that can be achieved with greater safety using the router in the plunge mode with the aid of the guides, hopefully it will encourage others to take up the challenge and learn new routing techniques. This collection of video material was presented at the 2008 Perth wood show instead of my usual practical demonstrations. This gave me an opportunity to present a greater range of subjects and also those who came to see the demonstration were able to have a clearer picture of what I was producing.

There is still more that can be achieved with the aid of the guides. I have a large number of projects I have completed, but have never taken any video of the process. I have also changed some of the techniques I originally developed in the early days. My original 'Jig Holder' has been changed twice in the last year.

Yesterday I conducted a 2hr 'Professional Development' session at one of our Colleges here in Western Australia to introduce my new techniques; hopefully to be taken up by the staff to introduce Greater Safety Awareness with the use of the router with their students.

As I said it has been quite some time since I introduced the topic to the forum and now with the visual presentation hopefully others will now take up the challenge and give the template guides a try.
