That should keep you out of mischief for a couple of days.

Congrats
Heya Delbs,
I'm really stoked that you went ahead and bought a jig. I was actually sweating a bit that your wife would have found out about us talking about the Leigh jig... Don't want any backlash.... Though a full gifkins prolly cost more!
I'm stoked at you getting that first box out so great. Its such an awesome thing to pump out something quick. I'm sure the hand tool brigade will say something to that (well, that's me included!) but it's soooo so nice to whack out a quick box.... All the rellos jump in and try to bags it even if it's a POS!
If its of consequence, I also grabbed an Incra ibox (woooooowwww!) and a hinge crafter. Giving the HC a crack tonight as I have a large blanket chest and a camping-storage box for a mates new Bogan Camping Trailer. I used the finger joints all across the edges, looks sweet, BUT nowhere near as sweet as a full width dovetail.... The gifkins wins hands down on the Leigh on that point (I can only do 24 inches and the blanket chest pushes it hard)

Hey, Haha nah my wife knew about all of it, including the price. She doesnt care (well thats what she says anyway lol) She was the one that sent me the photo of the courier lowering the package over my gate with tree branch lol Yes i think the package i got came in close if not more than the a leigh jig with all the accessories.
Since that first box i have adjusted the shims on the jig so i get a better fit as that one was a bit tight and just re-adjusted the height of the cutter so i dont get as much overhand on each dovetail. Haha yes i have had a few requests come through already from immediate family. im happy to get started, more practise for me and an excuse to get out to monaro timbers to get some extra materials. Will post pics when i get new materials for WIP
Oh wow would love to see the ibox and HC in action ive seen that on the Incra DVD and looks awesome!. Ah yes i am going to be making a chainsaw chest for a friend that wants it to live on his ute. It will be made out of marine ply (hence my other thread) and he wants dovetail oints up the side. so it will be 310mm tall (max height gifkins standard jig can handle) and an extra 150mm recessed lid made with dovetails also. He wants it from marine ply obviously as it will be protected from the elements. Speaking of cutting width the next order is the jumbo jig from gifkins. have plent of cabinets to make and the 480mm cutting width capacity of the jumbo will come in handy

Just a quick post guys. I'll be selling my entire Gifkins system pretty soon. Bought the box jointing attachments at last year's WW show and haven't even unwrapped it yet. Everything will go.
More on this soon.
Cheers,
Bob
