    Default GMC 1500W Lock

Recently my son was using my 1500W GMC router and a bit spat out damaging the lock mechanism.

I know GMC no longer are here.

What ever happened to the fellow on the forum who had a stock of spare parts is he still about?

    OR

Does anyone have and old dead router that they are looking at getting rid of I might buy the part off them.

I require a replacement Colet also.

    Ray

Give son a clip round the ear for breaking your tools and get him to buy you a new Triton

I don't like your chances of finding any spare parts. Perhaps buy a secondhand one from eBay or Gumtree? The only place that seems to list GMC spares doesn't mention the routers. ToolSparesOnline - Tool spares for Triton, GMC and Silverline Tools

You could check with masters and the 999 brand. They seem to be re-badged GMC tools.

No way Geoff considering he rang told me straight away still shaking as 2 seconds before the bit went sailing across the garage his 4 year old son was right where it went.

He feels bad enough. Besides he 6'2"

I have hinted at a Triton

The router still works i just used a screw driver to lock the shaft and I could tighten the colet and then used a bit and did some routing.

DavidG Thanks have a store close by will check see if they can get spares.

Geoff if you had that CNC up and running you could test it out on making me a new one
