Need Help with information on a Spindle Shaper (Hafco SP-150)
Hi all,
So I hope I don't get beaten up by router fans who hate shapers (I have several routers and they will always be my number one tool), but today I picked up a circa 2003 Hafco Woodmaster Sp-150 Spindle Moulder for basically nothing. My original idea was to scavenge the cast iron top (use it as a very large router insert for my third version router table), but after cleaning it up and testing it, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, and I just don't think I can bring myself to pull it apart just for a cast iron top.
When I say there is nothing wrong with it, I am not entirely telling the full story, because it was used in an industrial environment, so the first thing they did was take the fence and all safety guards off and throw them away. Fortunately I have the equipment and knowledge to fabricate new parts, but it is always easier if you know more about what was previously on the unit.
I was wondering if anyone might have a user manual and/or exploded diagram of this unit or even better would be someone who may have this shaper (I have already tried Hare and Forbes, but they have very limited info and no relevent spare parts).
Any help I can get will be greatly appreciated. If I can't find anything I will probably base the fence on the Jet or Grizzly versions they seem to be very similar and I imagine the Hafco is simply a copy of them.
Cheers,
Camoz

I guess no one ever came back to Cam on this. I'd be interested to hear from people on what they think about these?
