The high tech table has a very basic low tech beginning, i really needed to get a table based router back up and running so in a sort of design on the fly i started a frame that should morph into the high tech table down the track

I had a sheet of 16mm MDF that was getting in the way so i sliced it into 3 800mmx1200mm sections to make a three layer top and then built the frame to size allowing some over hang on all sides.

90x45 and 90x35 across the top, spacing for the middle was based on supporting the edge of the existing insert i had but should also be suitable when i move over to a full spindle setup. The idea is to build the spindle setup into it's own sub frame that then bolts into place.
I spent a lot of time ensuring the entire frame was square in all axis.

Designing on the fly is not fun and does lead to the odd stuff up. The Aluminium plate has a step around 12mm in from the edge and i ended up free handing the step down in the mdf cutout as I just wanted it in and aprt from these photo's i'll never see it most of the time.
The other stuff up was i marked the mdf with both an edge and centre line for the outside rails and then drilled the screw holes on the edge line.. had to come back and move them in 45mm
Issue will go away when i replace the top when i do the spindle setup.
The darker colour is after about 4 soakings of linseed/beeswax finish to start sealing the mdf top and give some slip.
The idea behind raising the top up 35mm was to provide a front air flow path for the dust extraction set we will be doing.

Now i'll bet there are some members that won't even have seen this particular router. the all thread rod sitting out the back actually gives me full above table height adjustment and i can actually get the collet high enough to do changes above the table.

Pity about the blue colour doesn't really match the top

I've tried it out and it seems solid and stable, though looking at screwing it down for use with bigger bits.

    Still to do.
    Add magnetic on/off safety switch
Enclose central area and setup dust collection
    Add lock/swivel castors for mobility
    Add bottom shelf
enclose one side for the future electronics and power supplies
decide if other side gets draws.

oops forgot the other "damn i forgot to check it first" stuff up. I just assumed the all four rails across the top would be in the same plan.... alas not, when i straight edged the top i had a big enough dip in the middle for me to take the frame of the top and shim the middle two rails so i had a flat plane to mount the MDF top too.... after that it was flat enough for woodwork ... this might be the one thing that forces a rebuild later on.

I've got a couple of empty nucleo-144 backpack boards (Peter's design from backshed) lying around if you want.
