    Default Hold Down Clamps

    Hi again,

While I had the digital camera I thought I show you the Hold Down Clamps I made for my router table.

The 'fingers' are made from an old circular saw blade. Although not made of spring steel they do have a small amount of 'spring steel quality' (for want of a better term). Anyway, they are perfect for the job. They are brazed welded into slots cut in some mild steel bolts.

The two clamps on the Vertical fence have two height postions each, and fine adjustment is achieved by rotating the clamp then locking the bolt in the base. (This is on the outside of the fence)

The two clamps on the table surface have their own base which is roughly positioned and fine adjustment is achieved by rotaring the clamps then tighting the four small screws.

They cost nothing to make except a bit of time, but they make an incredible difference to the using the table.

    Glen.

One change I would suggest is to place the clamps on the out-feed side a bit closer to the router bit. Originally the fingers on the out-feed clamps faced the other way, but they worked too well, and the work piece wouldn't go through.

bit of a change from orange.

A good idea that should also work on a sawbench.
